Asian Cancer Foundation has started a Support Group for Breast Cancer patients, survivors and their family members at Asian Institute of Oncology. The first meeting was held at K J Somaiya Hospital's auditorium on 8th July 2015.
The purpose for starting this group is to encourage patients to complete their entire treatment, make patients and their relatives aware about variuos side effects of the treatment, help them to have positive attitude towards life and work towards improving their quality of life.
This Cancer support group provides a platform in which breast cancer patient's can talk about their experience with the people who may be having similar experiences. Although the experience of people diagnosed with cancer varies greatly from one person to another, they all need a good support system in order to cope throughout the different stages of the treatment and life.
To address the group and solve their queries and doubt, we do involve the consultants, the dietecian team, physiotherapy team and who so ever can help them live a quality life.
With the above aims in mind, the cancer patient support group was started at Asian Insitute of Oncology by Asian Cancer foundation in July 2015. The group addresses patients suffering from breast cancer and currrently being treated at Asian Insitute of Oncology Hospital.
