Year wise Activities

    • Our ongoing activities include tobacco awareness and preventive oncology campaigns, cancer screening and detection camps, promoting research for betterment of pediatric cancer management and health care, fund raising through cultural events, participation at the Standard Chartered Mumbai marathon, fun activities for C-kids, the little ones afflicted by cancer and creating short awareness films and media campaigns on tobacco misuse.
    • The foundation is looking at a larger picture so that we can help patients who are not aware that they can get the help that they so desperately need. In the near future, on a slightly larger scale, we are going to need a mobile screening unit to take to low income urban and rural areas, hospice facilities, and accommodation for needy patients who need to be in Mumbai for a longer period of time.
  • Jan'18: Participation In Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM)

    • On 20thJanuary 2018, Asian Cancer Foundation participated in the annual Tata Mumbai Marathon 2018. 8 Volunteers ran under half marathon & Dream Run category. Through this marathon Foundation raised donation of Rs 91,000/-

    Feb’18: Crowd funding - KETTO

    • For Bone Marrow Transplant and Chemotherapy Asian Cancer Foundation arranged funds of Rs 20,87,000/- through crowd funding for three pediatric patients.

    Feb’18: Awareness session for GSB ladies group Matunga

    • On 11th February 2018 Dr Shravan Shetty’s session was arranged for GSB Matunga ladies group on “Oral cancer & Breast cancer” at Little Angels Secondary High School Hall, Plot No 6, Shastri Lane, Behind Manavseva Sangh Hall, Opposite Gandhi Market, Sion, Mumbai 400022.

    Apr’18: Mural painting event for children

    • On April 19th, 2018 mural painting event “Paint for Courage, Confidence and Conviction” was organised for children who are fighting cancer from the Asian Cancer Institute and Sion Hospital. This event was organised to bring colour and warmth into the lives of little patients and their families, who are under a lot of stress as they battle this dreaded disease. 28 children brightened walls in the hallways of the Asian Cancer Institute by painting murals under the guidance of the JJ School of Arts volunteers. This event was followed by a puppet show and snacks for the young artists and their families.

    May’18: Run for Cause Marathon

    • On 13th May 2018, Shining Angels NGO in association with R-Mall Mulund “Run Against Cancer” Marathon was organized to raise awareness about breast cancer and help underprivileged children for cancer treatments. Asian Cancer Foundation also supported the cause and participated in marathon with 35 runners.
  • Jan'17: Participation In Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM)

    • On 15th January 2017 ACF participated in the annual Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon. 6 Volunteers participated in the half marathon category.

    Feb'17: Awareness talk at Lala Lajpat Rai College, Mahalaxmi

    • On 1st February 2017 cancer awareness talks were organized by the Rotary Club at Lala Lajpat Rai College Mahalaxmi.

    Mar'17: Outing for cancer children at Madhuli Building, Worli, Mumbai

    • On 10th March 2017 ACF has organized an outing for 40 cancer afflicted children in the age group 3-15 with their caregivers at Madhuli building, with various fun activities for children such as block printing on T shirts and jute bag, photo session with actor Hrithik Roshan's cutout, antakshari etc. At the end of the programme, they had a healthy lunch and left with gifts donated by kind donors.

    • On 7th April 2017 a tobacco de addiction awareness talk was organized for Swami Vivekanand College's non teaching staff.

    Apr'17: Tobacco de addiction awareness talk, Jogeshwari, Mumbai

    • On 27th April 2017 a tobacco de addiction awareness talk was organized by the Rangoonwala Foundation for the senior citizens.

    May'17: Bappi da's Disco Ka Nasha with Baapi & Usha Uthup

    • On Sunday 21 May, 2017 a fundraiser Bappi da's Disco Ka Nasha with Shabbir and & Usha, was held at Shanmukhanand Hall. A grand live music concert, was featured rocking Usha Uthup and melodious Shabbir Kumar, along with 40 musicians, presented Bappi Lahiri's famous, ever popular rocking melodies from the 80's and 90's.

    • On 5th June 2017 a tobacco de addiction awareness talk was organized by the Nirmaya Foundation.

    Aug'17: Cupcake distribution at Asian Cancer Institute and K J Somaiya Hospital, Mumbai

    • On 9th August 2017 Asian Cancer Foundation distributed cupcakes to the Asian Cancer Institute’s pediatric ward and K J Somaiya Hospital's pediatric OPD.

    • On 24th August 2017 a tobacco de addiction awareness talk was organized by the Nirmaya Foundation at Govandi.

    Dec'17: Outing for cancer children at Madhuli Building, Worli, Mumbai

    • On 16th December 2017 ACF organized an outing for 43 cancer afflicted children in the age group 3-15 with their caregivers at Madhuli building, with various fun activities for children. A dance choreographer taught dance steps to the children, there was a magic show as well. Lunch was served at the end of programme and gifts were distributed.

    Dec'17: Distribution of nutritional supplements in Asian Cancer Institute, Mumbai

    • From August to December 2017, Pediasure, Ensure, Nachani Satva, Getsure, buttermilk and mixed dry fruits were distributed on a regular basis to pediatric and elderly patients from the general ward and OPD.
  • Jan' 2016: Participation In Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2016

    • Through participation in the Mumbai Marathon ACF raised funds through donations by the participating runners, who ran in the Mumbai Marathons under the banner of the organisation.
    • Total 4 runners participated in Standard chartered Mumbai Marathon under the Half Marathon category which was held on 17th January 2016.

    Feb' 2016: Celebration of World Cancer Day

    • On the occasion of World Cancer Day on 2nd February, an essay writing competition was organised for patients, relatives & staff, where winners were awarded with gifts and certificates.
    • A Poster making competition was arranged for the Asian Cancer Institute's staff and winners were awarded with gifts and certificates for first, second and third positions.
    • On the same evening an awareness talk on “Anti tobacco product use” was arranged for the staff, patients and their relatives, with a turn-out of around 60-70 people.

    Jun '2016: Tobacco Cessation Training Programme - Level - I

    • On 14th June & 15th June Asian Cacner Foundation has organized Tobacco Cessation Training Programme - Level - I for the nursing staff & doctors of Asian Cancer Institute through Narottam Sekhseria Foundation.

    Jul '2016: Tobacco Cessation Training Programme - Level - II

    • On 21st July & 22nd July Asian Cancer Foundation has organized Tobacco Cessation Training Programme - Level - II for the nursing staff & doctors of Asian Cancer Institute through Narottam Sekhseria Foundation. Total 18 staff attended this training programme. After attending this second level training, staff are full fledge counselors to counsel tobacco users.

    Sep '2016: Vibrations - A Musical Journey

    • on Sunday 25 September, 2016 at 6.30pm organized a VIBRATIONS - A MUSICAL JOURNEY, at the Tata Theatre, NCPA. The show was performed by Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt- Western Hawaian guitar, Pandit Rounu Majmudar-flute, Pandit Ramdas Pulsule - Tabla, Shri Atul Raninga - Keyboard and Shri Mukul Dongre - Drums.

    Oct '2016: Sounds of the Sufis

    • Sounds of the Sufis, on Saturday 15 October, 2016, 6.30pm, at the Nehru Centre Auditorium, Worli. 'Sounds of the Sufis', India's first Interactive Musical Documentary Theatre Performance will be presenting soul stirring music, anecdotes and personal narratives, making Sufism from the 8th Century AD come alive in today's contemporary context. With live renditions of songs of mystics like Amir Khusrao, Rumi, Kabir, Meera, and many more, the aim of this piece is to make Sufism more accessible for different audiences.

    • “KARUNA” a healing touch an evening of musical journey with melodious romantic Hindi film songs by sizzling playback singer Aishwarya Majmudar in aid of Oral cancer rehabilitation on Sunday, 20th Nov-2016 at CIDCO Exhibition Center's Auditorium, Vashi between 7.00pm - 10.00pm

    • Formal Inauguration of Cancer Support Group by ACF for the cancer patient and care takers.
    • Followed by eminent cancer awareness session by India’s leading Oncologist (Cancer Experts) such as Dr D M Parikh, Dr Sanjay Sharma, Dr Anupama Borkar and others
    • Aim of the Cancer Support Group is to provide a platform and connect the patients, care-taker and others to share their experience, queries and motivate each other in the battle against cancer

    • Cancer awareness session were organised in Association with Asian Cancer Foundation for the employees of Mphasis an HP Co. at Mumbai.

    Aug' 2014: Car Rally form D Y Patil Stadium to Lavasa

    • ACF partnered with Dreamz Integrated and organized a Car Rally from D Y Patil Stadium to Lavasa for Healthcare Professionals in the fight against Cancer, which was nominated for the international award.
    • The car rally was a first of its kind in India, with its Time-Speed-Distance format where the driver was judged on a combination of all three aspects.

    • “JUGALBANDI” a classical music duet were held on between Padma Bhushan award winners - Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Pandit Shivkumar Sharm with Pandit Vijay Ghate on the tabla and Pandit Bhawani Shankar on the Pakhvaj in the presence of the Chief guest Ms.Juhi Chawla
  • Mar’ 2010: Distribution Of Food Grain to Trust, Shelters & Hospitals

    • ACF distributed 108 kgs food grain to patient at Morarji Bhagwandas Trust, Dambul Niwas Home and some hospitals

    Oct’ 2010: VIBGYOR Musical Concerts

    • “VIBGYOR” - colour based fusion music concert held at the Nehru Auditorium by C-Kids. The 90 minutes scintillating performance had seven music personalities sharing the stage with Rakesh Chaurasia on the flute, Vijay Ghate on Tabla and Atul Raninga on keyboards. The Sufi singer Kavita Seth too was a part of the concert, along with vocalist Shaunak Abhisheki and Gino Louis Banks on the drums
    • Each musician tried to evoke the mood of the particular colour corresponding to the different chakras and centres in the human body to achieve a healthy body and soul
  • Mar’ 2009: Holi Party

    • ACF organized “Holi Party” with cancer afflicted children in the age group 3-15 years with their care-takers by using colorful flowers petals instead of harmful colors and chemicals
  • Apr’ 2008: ACF organized football tournament at Priyadarshini Park, Mumbai

    • The Youth Wing of ACF conceptualized and organized “PLAY”, an under 21 years football league tournament at Priyadarshini Park, Mumbai.
    • Over 160 footballers along with their supporters and volunteers participated in this event.
    • Besides raising funds during this event, the youth were made aware of the harmful effects of tobacco at the inaugural address by the Executive chairman of ACF and informative anti-tobacco posters placed on the grounds.

    • ACF has organized painting competition for cancer afflicted children, where prize winner paintings were sold as a greeting cards by ACF volunteers as a fund raising activity

    • ACF started providing financial support for the treatment of cancer patients
  • Aug’ 2005: Cancer awareness program in Arya Vidya Mandir School

    • A one-day cancer awareness program were organized for over 800 students of Arya Vidya Mandir School. Various harmful effects due to consumption of tobacco/alcohol were debated
    • Myths and misconceptions of cancer and its management were discussed by a team of Oncologists from Asian Institute of Oncology
  • Jan’ 2004: C-Kids Fund Raising Program

    • Fund-raising event for cancer children in two parts, a dance ballet and a music performance by “Art of Living Foundation” in Nehru Auditorium, Mumbai

    Apr’ 2004: Specialized Peadiatric Oncology Ward Setup

    • Funds raised by Asian Cancer Foundation were utilized to setup the Paediatric Oncology ward. It has been designed to make it environment friendly for children undergoing cancer treatment. Contributions were received from Lions Club - Juhu, Mumbai
  • Sep’2003: ACF organised Cricket Match against “Lagaan” film team

    • 300 cancer afflicted children participated in the event oraganised by ACF, “Cricket Match” against “Lagan” cast at the Taj Lands End (sponsors), Mumbai.
